yoga and fries

July 23, 2010

I don’t usually exercise more than once a day, but I have trouble traveling without trying out a new yoga studio.  I’m really glad I went to yoga tonight; it was glorious. The 75-minute Ashtanga-based vinyasa class felt like it was 15 minutes long. My body was tired after a long day and a run this morning, so I took it down a notch, modifying my practice as needed. I always tell my students, “This is YOUR practice, listen to what YOU need TODAY.” It felt good to take my own advice. 🙂

I was starving after yoga, since I hadn’t eaten since lunch. I went to U Food Grill, which seems to be healthified fast food.

I ordered a baked falafel wrap, which had pickled beets, lettuce, tomato, and tahini sauce on a wheat tortilla.

On impulse, I added a side of the “unfries” which are baked and trans fat free. I am not a big french fry fan, so my hunger was really speaking for itself. They were alright, definitely helped fill me up. The star of the dinner was the pickled beets on my wrap.

I miss my boys and home cooked food; I can’t wait to go home. What do you miss most when you’re away?
